Be creative – keep reading books, says Birgit Collin-Langen, MEP
Some people do not open the cover of the book just being scared by the number of the pages and possible time that will be spend to finish reading… Not me, says Ms Birgit Collin-Langen, Member of the European Parliament.
Every time opening the first page of the new book I launch a new story, a new live of the characters, a new emotions and enriching discovery, added Ms Collin-Langen.
“For me the biography Catherine the Great: Portrait of Woman of Robert k. Massie is a great “mental journey” that opened the way to imagination through the amazing world of history. I am sure that reading opens the path for creativity that goes in parallel with enriching author’s literary performance. Personally I prefer to read biographies because they help setup a certain relationship with depicted person, since you discover his or her way of thinking, values and wishes.
A book gives the individual freedom to interpret the characters, the events, to free the imagination and to create the most beautiful picture of the moment thanks to the personal vision, inspiration and talent. It is for that reason that I prefer reading to watching television: In movies the characters are interpreted already. So I suggest you – be creative – keep reading books!”, said Ms Collin-Langen.
