“The three musketeers” is, without any doubt, one of the most wonderful adventure novels of all time. When I first read it, as a child, it was for me a true discovery, but the entire cycle, “The three Musketeers”, “Twenty Years After” and “The Vicomte of Bragelonne”, is also a beautiful summary of the life of those heroes whose memory you will carry with you during all of your life. I think it is a story that needs to be read in its entirety, every volume, be it at sixteen or seventeen, when you are just the same age as D’Artagnan at the beginning of his adventures with the Musketeers, later, in your thirties, or even in your late fifties, because this book is not only an invitation and an initiation to life, but “The Vicomte of Bragelonne” is also a preparation for death.
