A MEP’s life as well as his work is a constant journey. On the way through and to different countries and cultures, I like to indulge in literature that is intelligent and intriguing, yet lightly entertaining. I like to get away from reality and get lost in a good crime story, says Mr Jan Olbrycht, Member of the European Parliament.
I enjoy being surprised by its sudden twists and even testing whether my ideas for resolving the plot are correct. I chose the biography of a ‘mother’ of British crime literature – Agatha Christie. I was interested in the life and mind of a women who created the most fascinating stories in this literary stream, and I was pleased to discover that she lived a life not free of certain unexpected twists herself, added Mr Olbrycht.
